Surveying & Mapping the Advertisement Points using GPS

Working with Dinas Pertanahan dan Tata Ruang (DPTR) Kota Yogyakarta for Mapping of Advertisement Points in Yogyakarta City using GPS.

The background of this activity stems from the effectiveness of advertising as a medium for introducing, offering, and promoting products, which has led to an increasing trend in erecting advertisements by entrepreneurs without regard for the urban spatial planning. The mass establishment of advertisements has resulted in discomfort, especially for road users, and many people believe that unregulated advertising placement disrupts the aesthetic of the city streets. Therefore, the placement of advertisements needs to be regulated through permits issued by the Integrated Licensing Service Agency or Office, ensuring that advertisements comply with the urban spatial planning.

To support the regulation of advertisements that do not comply with permits, the following scope of work was carried out:

1. Prepared and verified the reliability of surveying tools (GPS) and conducted reconnaissance surveys before initiating the project.

2. Conducted field studies on the distribution of advertisements in Yogyakarta city.

3. Determined the coordinates of 437 advertising locations using Leica Zeno Flex 100.

4. Processed coordinate data to create an Advertising Distribution Map in Yogyakarta city.

5. Conducted precision testing of measurement equipment.

6. Generated maps illustrating the distribution of advertisements in Yogyakarta city.

Here is the documentation of the activity along with the final outcome, which is the Map of Advertisement Point Distribution in Yogyakarta City.
